Vlieger & Vandam, a Rotterdam based accessories label is the creation of husband and wife team Hein van Dam and Carolien Vlieger who began working together in 2000.

Two years later they made their first collection of handbags called Guardian Angel, a response to the media-hype about crime and a general feeling of unsafeness in their city. Vlieger & Vandam wanted to give people the impression of feeling secure, arming them with a 'Guardian Angel' handbag.

In 2005 the Guardian Angel bag was exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, at the exhibition "Safe, Design Takes On Risk". The MoMA added a Guardian Angel bag to its permanent collection in 2006.

The label is stocked in top fashion and design stores throughout the world, not surprisingly it has been featured in numerous International publications, including Marie Clare, Lou Lou, El Mundo and Cool Hunting, to name just a few!
